HOWTO: Migrate an Application with APUNLOAD / APLOAD

Purpose: Export an entire application from the MAGEC Dictionary to a portable file and load it on the same or another system.

1. Unload (Source System)

• Utility: APUNLOAD (mainframe) or APUNLOADX (PC)
• Control Card: APUNLOAD mmm (or range: 600/699)

2. Load (Target System)

• Utility: APLOAD (mainframe) or APLOADX (PC)
• Control Card: APLOAD mmm
• Optional: NOREP or RENAME old/new

3. Post-Load Steps

1. Regenerate: MSKCREAT mmm, MMPCREAT mmm
2. Recompile programs
3. Test

Notes: Always backup your dictionary before loading. The unload file is portable across platforms.
