Set display and screen behavior preferences

This online documentation was orignially published in printed form as several bound volumes. In its online format we have added "watermark"s to help you to quickly see which Chapter (book) you are looking at in case you are in process of doing several tasks at the same time (as is often true for application developers) and have to leave and return to it.

Some viewers might prefer to NOT have those watermarks on the pages, so, you can set a preference telling us whether or not to show them.

Each Chapter was once a printed book. To help ou to find what you seek, we show an index, table of contents, or list of figures in a sidebar. You can click on any item listed to go to where it is referenced. Seeing the page scrolling "smoothly" up or down to the requested topic helps some viewers to become more familiar with the overall structure of the manuals. Others may prefer to have it go immediately there with no visual display, so you can set a preference for Smooth scrolling or for immediate delivery to where you chose.

Current setting is

NOTE: Preferences are not saved beyond the online session. If you exit the Documentation, they revert to the defaults.
